When you use UniChat, we collect the following categories of personal data:

• Account data — your email address, used to authenticate you via one-time passcode.
• Usage data — pages visited, features used, and timestamps, collected to improve the product.
• Message data — content of conversations you manage through UniChat on behalf of your business.
• Technical data — IP address, browser type, and device identifiers for security and debugging.

How We Use Your Data

We use your data solely to provide and improve the UniChat service:

• Authenticate your identity and maintain your session securely.
• Deliver messages between you and your customers across connected channels.
• Generate aggregated, anonymised analytics to show you performance insights.
• Send transactional emails (e.g. OTP codes). We do not send marketing emails without consent.
• Detect and prevent fraud, abuse, or security threats.

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties for advertising purposes.

Cookies

UniChat uses strictly necessary cookies to operate the service. We do not use tracking or advertising cookies.

Data Retention

We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. Conversation data is retained for 12 months after the conversation is closed, unless you request earlier deletion. Usage logs are retained for 90 days.

When you delete your account, all personal data is permanently removed within 30 days, except where we are required by law to retain it.

Your Rights (GDPR)

If you are located in the European Economic Area, you have the following rights under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR):

• Right to access — request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
• Right to rectification — ask us to correct inaccurate or incomplete data.
• Right to erasure — request deletion of your personal data (“right to be forgotten”).
• Right to restriction — ask us to restrict processing of your data in certain circumstances.
• Right to portability — receive your data in a machine-readable format.
• Right to object — object to processing based on legitimate interests.
